Having spent every summer on the beach as a child, I have many fond memories of spending time with family and friends playing in the sand and swimming in the waves.

We have continued this tradition of spending time with our now grown children and young grandchildren on the sunny, sandy beaches of the Florida gulf.

We think it is one of the best family vacations, even better than Disney World and we've been there many, many times. The relaxed atmosphere, the soothing sound of waves and a warm breeze are the perfect components for a great time.

But with a little forethought, a good vacation can become a great vacation.  Too much sun and no shade can lead to a nasty sunburn or dehydration. If you've packed all your beach gear, but don't have a cart to carry it all, you've got a problem.
